Thomas Lee Hiles was born on November 20, 1958 in Susanville, California and passed away in July of 2024 in Susanville. Though he lived in many other places, Susanville was always home. He was a Veteran of the National Guard and a member of the American Legion of Greenville. He went to school for and worked as a mechanic most of his life. He held other jobs, but that is what he loved most. His other love was music. He played the trumpet and harmonica and could tell you what song was playing from his era in one or two notes. He was also very good at writing and reciting poetry.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Phyllis Hiles. He is survived by his wife Beverly Hiles, sons Jeffery Hiles, Danial Zelwick, stepsons Joe Duncan and his wife Amy, Timothy Duncan and his wife Ashlynne and John Duncan and his wife Teresa. His other surviving family are his siblings, Dwaine Hiles, his wife Linda, Shelly Pruitt-Roos, her husband Randy, Tammy Masters (his twin), her husband Pete, Melanie Zelwick, her husband Bob, plus 11 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
