Obituary For Donna June McCloud
Donna June McCloud, of Susanville, passed away May 4, 2026, in Susanville, at her home at the age of 82.
June was born on December 16, 1943, in Susanville, California to Donald & Florence Stokes. From 1949 to 1961, she attended Lincoln School, Roosevelt Elementary, Washington School, and Lassen High School, where she graduated in June 1961. She met her husband in 1973, and they married on March 24, 1980 and were married for 46 years. They had one child together.
June worked for Dr & Phyliss Tangerman, Seetallers, Head Start (in Utah), Mountain Meadow Ranch, and Susanville School District. In August 1967 to June 7, 1971, she was on her Mission in Idaho and Montana.
June was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since birth. She was baptized at 8 years old. She was the Mutual Improvement Association Secretary in the Susanville ward. She was involved in the Campfire Girls and Blue Bird from 1955 to 1961; she was also a Campfire Girl group leader. She made her first of many wedding cakes in 1961 when she was still in high school. From 1989 to 1999 she was involved in the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and the Eagle Scouts with her son William. June retired in 2003 and started focusing on her genealogy work.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Florence Stokes; sister-in-law Mona Stokes, nephews William Bell and Aaron Jones. She is survived by her husband, Don McCloud, of Susanville, California; her only child; William “Billy” and his wife Jaded McCloud; granddaughter: Lyric, great-grand-son: Ragnar, her brothers: Donald Stokes Jr and Jimmie Stokes & wife Tina, sister: Rebecca & husband Bob and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed.
Services will be held and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Susanville, on May 22nd at 11AM, followed by burial at the Janesville Cemetery.
