Obituary For David A. Law
It is with sadness that the family of David A. Law share his passing on Friday, July 26th, 2024. Dave is survived by his wife of 57 years, Christina L. (Allen), His Children Betty (Sutton) Miller, Jeff (Erica) Law, Janice Calgaro, and Jullia Law. He is also survived by his grandchildren and one great-grandson. He was proceeded in death by three of his grandsons.
Dave was born on March 23, 1947, in Duchesne, Utah, the youngest of nine children born to Orville and Aretta (Woodbury) Law. He spent his early years in Utah and California, eventually settling in Susanville in 1964. He graduated from Lassen High School in 1965, where he ran cross country and enjoyed fishing in his leisure time. After graduating, Dave attended Lassen Junior College, where he met Christina. He earned the honor of valedictorian when he graduated with his associate's degree.
Dave built a career with Sierra Pacific Industries, working his way up through several positions before becoming the manager of the Co- Gen plant. He enjoyed learning new skills and took additional college courses to support his career development. He always stressed the importance of education to his children and grandchildren.
Dave enjoyed gardening, home projects, and spending time in the great outdoors. He shared these hobbies with his children and grandchildren. A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Dave held numerous callings throughout his life while his health permitted. He was called to the position of Executive Secretary when the Quincy Steak was formed.
At Daves request, a private interment was held shortly after his passing at Diamond Crest Cemetery in Johnstonville, CA.
