Dale Allen Nelson

Dale Allen Nelson, 70, of Susanville, California, passed away on May 13, 2026.

Born in Susanville, Dale grew up in Westwood, California, where he developed a deep love
for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and baseball. He graduated from Del Oro High School in Loomis. He worked most of his life as a skilled carpenter, painter, builder, and handyman in Susanville.

Dale was exceptionally talented and creative, able to make almost anything with his hands,
from guitars, boats, and fine woodwork to oil paintings, knives, and leather goods. A strong, athletic man and true cowboy at heart, he was rarely seen without his cowboy hat. He loved backpacking, hunting, and spending time in nature.

He is survived by his children: Robert Nelson, KC Nelson, Mandy LaRowe, Brad McKinnon, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren
and his beloved dog, Bella. He was preceded in death by his wife Trisha Nelson.

Dale will be remembered for his many talents, generous spirit, and independent nature.
